What is Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a painful, chronic disease that affects millions of women and girls all over the world every year. The bladder, bowel, vagina, cervix, vulva, and the abdominal surgical scars are the other sites for the growth of endometrial growth. They may also grow in the lungs, arms, thigh and in other regions but very rare.The interesting thing is this that the abnormal grown tissue react in the same way during menstruation as the actual lining of the uterus do during the menstrual cycle in females.
Types of Endometriosis
- Minimal endometriosis.
- Mild Endometriosis .
- Moderate endometriosis .
- Severe endometriosis .
Most cases of this disease are mild or minimal because of the mild scar and superficial implants. Moderate and severe endometriosis may result into the cysts and more severe scaring. The degree of symptoms a women shows and the stage of endometriosis are not related but infertility is common in stage 4.
Mostly it is found in infertile women as compared to the fertile women but the endometriosis does not causes the infertility. Mostly the women having endometriosis do not show any sign and symptom but sometime they may show following signs and symptoms:
Pelvic pain that is increased during the menstruation
· Painful intercourse
· Painful urination during urination
· Painful bowel movements
· Infertility
· Pain before and during periods
· Fatigue
· Other GIT upsets such as diarrhea, constipation and nausea.

In addition the women suffering with endometriosis may also suffer from :
Allergies, chemical sensitivities and frequent yeast infections.
It is an important note that the pelvic pain is the symptom of the endometriosis but the normal women may also show the symptom of pelvic pain during menstruation and ovulation.
